ANOTHER
long weekend is coming up and what better way of spending it by pampering
yourself after all the Kadayawan Festival activities?
If
you do not have any scheduled travel plans yet and if you’re in a “tipid mode” to go out for a spa session,
here are some DIY masks and scrub ideas you may try that won’t cost you a lot
for a pamper sesh this weekend.
Hair
Deep
condition your hair by mixing one mashed
avocado, 2 tablespoon (tbsp) coconut oil, and 1 tbsp honey. Massage the
mixture onto your hair and wrap with a shower cap for 30-40 minutes. Wash,
rinse and voila!
Avocado
is rich in good fats that help in conditioning your hair, coconut oil adds
shine and has antibacterial properties that helps fight dandruff, and honey
helps in locking all that moisture to your hair. Avocado and coconut oil also
helps in stimulating hair growth as well.
Face
For
the face, make your own skin tightening and firming mask by mixing 2 teaspoon (tsp) coffee or coffee grounds
and 2 tsp honey. Apply on a freshly washed faced and let it sit for 3-5
minutes.
Coffee
is rich in antioxidants that helps brighten dull skin while honey other than
retaining all that moisture, also has antibacterial properties. Both coffee and
honey also helps in reducing skin inflammation and redness to acne prone skin.
Body
Now
for a quick body scrub to remove all the dirt and dead skin cells mix 3 tbsp coffee grounds, 3 tbsp brown sugar
and 3 tbsp coconut oil and scrub away.
Coffee
grounds and brown sugar will help in removing the “gunk” from your skin and
brighten it as well while coconut oil will leave your skin moisturized after.
Those
are three DIY ideas that you can try for your own pamper sesh during this long
weekend and the best part, you can do all these in the comforts of your home
(and it’s cheaper too!).
